I was saddened to hear of Carls passing. He was an extremely kind man. He and Fran were very good friends to my mother Marilyn Gibson and when my sister and I visited several years ago they were lovely to us. Carl set up an email connection and I was treated to his jokes for several years. Dianne Kynaston Calgary

To Carl's family, My husband Cal told me this morning of Carl's passing. I am so sorry for your loss of this most caring man. I worked with Carl at Stony Mountain penitentiary for a lot of years. I know through conversations of our families, how his love for Fran and his girls was great. I was only 22 years old when I started working at the penitentiary ... Carl aways made sure I was safe while working there ... like I said, such a caring man. I had a most memorable time with both Carl and Fran when they invited me and my brother to their hobby farm in Argyle ... a very wonderfull afternoon we spent with them. I last saw Carl during my lengthy stay at Stonewall Hospital, just a few weeks ago. I was on a strether, returning from an outside appointment, he was coming down the hall on his power chair from ER (his 3rd visit, that I know of, to the ER during my stay there). He immediately grabbed my hand, asking how I was doing - again, such a caring man. Ellen Elliott

So sorry to hear of the passing of Carl. He was a wonderful neighbour when we lived beside him and Fran. Played a lot of cribbage with them and had a lot of backyard visits. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fran and the family during this sad and difficult time. Sincerely, Dean and Donna Couvier
