He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Kathleen Mann, parents-in-law, Lloyd and Tootsie Wood, brother, Ron Mann. Bob/Dad was born in Stonewall on June 27, 1936, the eldest son of five boys. He was raised on the “Mann” dairy farm where as a young boy, he delivered milk door-to-door with a horse and wagon. He met the love of his life, Lynn Wood and they were married in 1957. They raised their family in the town of Stonewall where Bob/Dad became involved with many community organizations: The Kinsmen Club of Stonewall, of which he was presented with a Life Membership, Church of the Ascension (Anglican), IOOF, Stonewall-Rockwood Fire and Ambulance. In 1982, he moved to Castlegar, B.C. where he acquired a position as Fire Chief and Director of the B.C. Fire Chief’s Association from 1982-1991. He returned home to his community of Stonewall in 2007, for family and retirement. Bob/Dad loved camping and fishing at Falcon Lake, golfing at Teulon and riding horses, nothing better than a rodeo (one hand on the bull and the other waving his hat). He was very conscientious, sincere, trustworthy, hard-working and capable of completing any task assigned to him. He dedicated his life to family, friends and community. A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., Church of the Ascension, 435 1st Ave. West, Stonewall, Reverend James Bardsley officiated. The family wish to express our sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and care-providers at Rosewood Lodge and Stonewall Hospital for the compassion and comfort they bestowed to our husband, father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to The Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2 or Church of the Ascension, Box 550, Stonewall, Manitoba R0C 2Z0. Bob/Dad – “Forever in our memories, till we meet again!”
