Anita Ann Jones (nee Jenkins)

Anita Ann Jones (nee Jenkins)

Passed on October 5, 2023

August 2, 1931 – October 5, 2023     We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Anita Ann Jones, on October 5, 2023 at Rosewood Lodge Stonewall.

She has left us to join her lifelong love Orville at the age of 92 years. She leaves to remember her sons; David; Larry (Gina), daughter Shelly (Gordon); grandchildren; Crystal (Dustin), Michael (Anna), Aimee, Curtis, Dennis (Lil), Bryce, Jeff (Kim); Great Grandchildren; Isabella, David; Brother; Ted (Helen); sister-in law Pat and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Also her close friends Elinor and Lil.

She was predeceased by her husband Orville in 2020, daughter-in-law Chris, brother Don, several brothers-in-law as well as her parents.

Mom was born in Shaunavon, Sk. and was raised in Paradise Hill, Sk. Here she married Orville Jones in 1952. They celebrated 67 years together. In 1954, Mom & Dad moved to the Stonewall area, to raise their family and begin their life on the farm where Mom worked tirelessly. She was the heart of our home who loved her family and friends’ visits. She was an exceptional homemaker. Visitors or family never went home hungry. Once her children were grown, Mom took her “Nurses Aid” course to be able to work in the brand new Rosewood Lodge. Where she worked until she retired. Mom and Dad moved to Stonewall to enjoy their retirement. They were very active until Dad’s passing, and Mom’s declining health, but she lived independently until she turned 91.

Mom had many hobbies. Many family, friends and pets received one of her crocheted blankets. In her younger years, Mom could be mistaken for Queen Elizabeth, so we called her “The Queen”. She always dressed nice and tried to look her best. We will miss you, Mom.

We wish to thank all those who took such good care of Mom in her final years. Your kindness and support is much appreciated. Also thank you to Ken Loehmer for your guidance and excellent services.

As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held.

Comments

I want to extend my sympathies with Anita’s family. I only had the privilege of meeting Anita and Orville a couple times but she was my first cousin as my dad Ralph and her dad Carl were brothers. I recall visiting Anita and Orville in Stonewall and having so much fun and being treated with kindness. They were the consummate hosts.

I worked at Rosewood with Anita. She was so much fun and worked so hard. She was so funny when she was mad stomping her feet as she walked down the hall. She was kind and always gave her best. She will be missed. Kathy Nicholson

Sincere sympathy to the family. I worked with Anita at Rosewood many years ago, such a lovely person.
