Anne Shirley Brindley

Anne Shirley Brindley

Passed on June 28, 2023

July 5, 1930 – June 28, 2023     Anne Shirley Brindley (nee Holt), Mother, Gramma, Great-Grandmother, sister, friend, passed away on the morning of June 28, 2023, at the age of 92 years young. She lived life to the fullest by spending time surrounded by family and friends. She loved laughing, watching curling, playing cards, and always jumped at the opportunity to go out for breakfast or wing nights.

Anne was born on July 5, 1930, to Clarice and George Holt in the R.M. of Roblin, Manitoba. She lived in Stonewall, Manitoba, where she lovingly raised her family before moving to Argyle. She adored being part of the community and spent many years as a member of the curling club and played in numerous shuffleboard tournaments around the province. Her last years were spent living at the Knight’s Center in Selkirk, where she was thrilled to become part of a new community. She cherished the friendships she made there and never missed an opportunity to attend an outing, meal, or celebration.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Ken, son Brian, siblings Helen, Tom, Jim, and Allan. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Donna (Ken) and daughter-in-law Bev. She was a beloved grandma to Jackie (Doug), Valery (Cory), Mary (Darren), Karen (Jeff), Kendall (Richard), and Brindley (Sean). She also adored her many great-grand children Gavin (Manvir), Justine (Ryley), Breanna (Jesse), Chaz (Kaitlyn), Emily (Duncan), Sam (Alexis), Alex (Kennedy), Jayden, Greame, and baby Taeya Anne who captivated Gram’s attention since the moment they met. She will also be missed by her brother Ted, sisters-in-law Peggy, Diane, and Joy as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was most fondly known as Gram by those closest to her. She would always welcome you with the warmest smile, biggest hug, and favorite treat at the time. She had a knack for making everyone feel as if they were the most special. She was compassionate, kind, and abundantly affectionate to those she loved most. She was independent, strong, and possessed a feisty stubbornness that will live on in her six granddaughters.

You will live on in our hearts and actions for eternity, Gram.

Love you biggest.

The family would like to express gratitude to those who cared for Anne at both Selkirk Hospital and HSC. Thank you also to Ken Loehmer for your help during this difficult time.

In lieu of a funeral, a small family celebration will take place, as per Mom’s request. For those who wish, a donation can be made in her memory to a charity of your choosing.
