Passed on

After a brief illness of pneumonia on Saturday, August 22, 2026 Benedict Yankech aged 69 years passed away at St. Boniface Hospital.

Survived by brothers Richard, Joe, Victor, John and their spouses, many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brother Steve, sisters Anna, Emily (Les), Elaine (Bert), parents Gabriel and Petrina.

Born in Gimli, Manitoba on July 13, 1957. Ben worked placing flags on handles for the Manitoba Government while residing at the Manitoba school for the mentally challenged.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in Teulon at 11:00 am.

Pallbearers: Richard, Joe, Victor, Nickolas, Marcus, Victoria.

Flowers are gratefully declined, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
