Brooke Nicola Emily Grysiuk

Brooke Nicola Emily Grysiuk

Passed on December 27, 2019

Surrounded with her family our beautiful daughter Brooke Nicola Emily Grysiuk earned her angel wings on December 27th, 2019. Brooke is survived by her parents Alison and Calvin Grysiuk, older brother Kyle, maternal grandparents Jacqueline Burnell of Winnipeg, Bruce and Valerie Burnell of Kelowna and paternal grandparents Gloria and Michael Grysiuk. Brooke was a perfect baby girl born on December 7th, 2007. She was our real life doll with beautiful blue eyes and dimples that could melt your heart. Brooke had a larger then life personality for someone who was non-verbal and had the happiest disposition. Brooke loved music and anytime you would sing Happy Birthday her face would light up with the most infectious smile. Brooke loved princesses and has a collection of costumes from past halloweens, with her favourite being Elsa from frozen. It was fitting for her other favourite song to be O’Canada since she absolutely loved hockey. In early years you could find her at the local hockey rink cheering on her big brother. Brooke is and will always be Kyle’s biggest fan. We learned quite early on in Brooke’s life that she was born with a neurodegenerative disease which has never been diagnosed. Our little girl was a fighter – one of the strongest people we had ever met. Life was not always easy, Brooke dealt with many illnesses, seizures, and surgeries but always persevered like a brave warrior and gave us the strength to face everyday. It was supposed to be our job to teach Brooke but I can honestly say she taught us more about life, patience and strength. We would like to thank all the Doctors, nurses and support staff on CH5 at HSC Children’s Hospital. Thank you for providing such exceptional care for our little girl. We truly are grateful for all the nurses who loved our Brooke and you will always be like family to us. A special thanks to Dr. Mustapha at ACF Pediatrics St. Boniface Hospital. Brooke’s celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg Manitoba. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Brooke’s name to HSC Children’s Hospital – CH5. Fly away my angel spread your wings and fly, take the beauty of your soul and share it with the sky… -unknown

We cared about Brooke so much at Crestview School. It was a pleasure working with her and we will always treasure the wonderful memories. Brooke put a smile on the faces of everyone around her. Her peers enjoyed her so much and they all loved bopping to music together! Brooke taught us so much about strength and resilience. Despite her challenges, she was always happy and had such a sunshiny disposition. Brooke, we will remember you and your beautiful spirit always! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
