Wayne grew up in Woodlands, MB. Sports were an important part of his life, playing baseball and running track early on before finding his later love of curling and golf. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time on the land fishing and hunting. Wayne always looked forward to his time at Spearhill, playing records, crokinole and taking naps in the fresh air. His great sense of humor earned him many friends throughout the Interlake.
He was married on September 2nd 1967 to Carolyn McCrimmon and this weekend they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a founding member of the South Interlake Golf Course (Whispering Winds). Wayne worked for 10 years at Bulman printing before starting his 30+ year career with MTS in the print shop.
A memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will take place at the Woodlands Community Hall Friday September 8th at 2:00pm. A private family interment will follow.
We would like to thank the team at St. Boniface hospital and the doctors and nurses in the cardiac critical care unit. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Deepest sympathy Wayne was a great guy always so happy and kind. He will be missed by many. Val Ruth.
