It is with profound sadness that the family of Elsie Ostiuk announce her passing on July 2, 2026 having reached her 96th birthday. She was always caring for others in her gentle way.  It was fitting that her daughters had the privilege of caring for her in her final hours.  She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley in 2008; and her daughter, Beverley in 2021.  Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters; Carol Raymack (Ron), Terry Wilson (Arnie), Debbie Schmidt (Don) and Sharon Jones (Doug).  Nine grandchildren; Jason, Tara, Mark, Jamie, Ryan, Matthew, Michael, Amanda and Kendra, and six great-grandchildren; Saige, Brody, Madison, Colton, Hazel and Shia will forever remember how much she loved them.

Also mourning her loss are her four remaining siblings; Joseph Roskevich (Rose), Josephine Burdz, Jane Roskevich and Phyllis Maloney; as well as nieces and nephews.

Elsie had been a resident of MP2 at Misericordia Place since 2008.  The family is grateful to all the dedicated staff who cared for her with dignity and respect.  She loved them like they were family.  To have known Elsie was to love her.  Rest in Peace, your work here is done.

A celebration of Elsie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stonewall Parochial Hall, 291-1st Street West.  Reception and internment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, MP2 at Misericordia Place, or a charity of your choice.
