Gladys Haldane-Wilsone

Passed on June 24, 2022

On the morning of June 24, 2022 our dear Mother Gladys was reunited with our Father Alan. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Mom was born in Winnipeg in 1933 and was one of 16 children. Mom always said how chaotic those younger years were. She worked and resided in Winnipeg until our Father passed away in 2004 when she joined my brother in Kelowna. She spent 5 years there then moved to Woodlands where she enjoyed 13 years here with us. Our friends and the kids friends all called her “gramma” and she loved when anyone stopped in for a visit.

Our Mother missed our Father every single day and in her heart knew they would be reunited again some day. She passed away on the same day that he did 18 years later. True love does exist.

She will be laid to rest beside her soulmate in Souris at a private family ceremony.

In her first years with us she enjoyed going to Bingo at the hall and the day program at Oak Park Lodge, where she was quick to make friends with the residents. Visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always a highlight.

Mom was always known for her knitting crocheting and sewing. We all have something special that she had made over the years. She had a love for game shows and crossword puzzles and that woman knew everything. Her technical skills on her iPad left a lot to be desired and she was always calling for help. But she was always able to use FaceTime and Facebook to keep in touch with her family.

When Moms health started to fail we opened our doors to the Family managed Home Care Program. With this came wonderful new friendships for Mom in the girls that worked here with us. These girls were Mom’s lifeline. Margaret, Ella, and Marge, and everyone else who has worked with Mom over the years, without these ladies life in the bush would have been so boring! A huge Thank you to our friend Heather for her love and support and car rides and Timmy’s deliveries. You all brought so much joy and laughter into our lives and we will all be forever grateful for your love and support. You were all daughters from another Mother to her.

We would like to thank Sherri Buors for your unwavering support for Mom to be able to remain at home with us. To Dr Zahiri who Mom called her own “Russell Peters” thank you for your care and compassion. Thanks to Dr Graham and Christine from Palliative care for making things possible in her last days and for helping us navigate through it all.

I can’t say enough to Thank both Lori and Megan, our Home Care Nurses who were a huge support for me and Mom in her final days. All of you ladies were her angels and our lifeline.

Predeceased by her parents Bridget and Willis Eastveld and her siblings Bill, John Sidney, Pat, Jim, Robert, Bridget, Ethel, Margaret, Beatrice, Agnes, Rosemary, Daniel, Mark, Patty and Paul.

Left to mourn are her children Terry & Charlie Milazzo (Andrea and daughter Ashley), Chuck & Kim Haldane-Wilsone Susan & Allen Fehr Geoff & Katie and Nigel, and Tammy and Joe Hueging (Kevin & Jamie Norberg (Sadie Emmett Ingrid & Axel) Tara & Kurt Blach (Ava & Knox) and Meagan and Jeremy Fisher (Paisley and Remi).

Mom also left behind the family dogs Ellie Rosie and Charlie who have been missing her since the day she left.

Mom, there are no good-byes, wherever you are, you will always remain in our hearts.
