Judith Christine Dedrick-Williams

Passed on

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Christine Dedrick-Williams on June 14, 2026.

Born on February 27, 1950, Judith made her home in Teulon, Manitoba, where she became a cherished member of the community and touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and dedication to others.

Judith shared many wonderful adventures with her late husband, Alan Williams. Together, they enjoyed road trips, especially their travels to Arizona, where they loved exploring and discovering unique treasures along the way.

Judith devoted her professional life to education as a junior high school teacher and guidance counsellor at Teulon Collegiate. She was passionate about helping young people reach their full potential and was respected by students, colleagues, and families alike for her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support.

A dedicated volunteer and community advocate, Judith was an active member of the Lions Club and the Teulon Senior Resource Centre. She believed strongly in giving back and spent much of her life serving others, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Her generous spirit and commitment to her community left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Judith will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debra-Anne, Helen and Alan; her three cherished grandchildren; her sister, Carolynn Derkach; her brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Sheila Dedrick; her in-laws, Margaret Dedrick, Christine and Tony Hayhurst, and Terry and Mary-Ellen Williams; as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family would also like to extend a special acknowledgment and heartfelt thanks to Jillian Young for her guidance, support, and friendship over the past several years.

Judith will be remembered as a caring and selfless woman whose kindness, warmth, and dedication to others enriched the lives of so many. Her legacy of service, compassion, and community involvement will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love by her family, friends, former students, and all whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local animal rescue organization in Judith’s memory.

It was my first teaching job when I came to Teulon Collegiate in 1976 to teach art. Judith kindly took me under her wing and help me settle in. Those formative years of teaching and the stellar group of teachers including Judith that I had the honour of working with have always stayed close to my heart. Rest in Peace dear Judith. Wishing your family, friends and little Honey comfort and support at this difficult time. In sympathy and friendship, Erika Uustalu-Nicholson

Hay kiddo. Was her most used phrase in school. A kind sole from beginning to end.

Both Mom and Dad were amazing, both completely different and yet the nicest, most caring people ever. Mom missed Dad so much, as did us all and now they have both moved on. I will always appreciate the great talks, the open door and how you displayed how a parent should be. Thank you for being a kind voice, a listening ear and advice whenever it was needed. I'll miss hearing "kid" and "kiddo", "HEY! Come onnnnn in!" with my surprise visits just to spend time with you. Thank you for helping all of the kids that you did, who didn't have a safe home and thank you for providing one! You will forever be missed and my littles will learn about you from shared happy memories :)

My deepest condolences to the family. Debbie, Helen and Allan. I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Your mom was a special person. Mrs.Dedrick-Williams was my teacher and I still remember inviting her to home economics to enjoy a "home" cooked meal. Wishing you strength and peace during this time of sorrow.

I was fortunate enough to be a student of Judith’s in the 70’s, I moved to BC and connected with her through facebook all these years later. She was one of my favourite teachers and a wonderful person. She loved her Honey so much and I enjoyed all her stories. I will miss seeing all her posts as I am sure many of my classmates will as well. Rest in peace dear lady. ❤️

You are missed. I feel fortunate to have gotten to know you. My daily walks with my grandson Declan & my dog Lily took me to your front sidewalk daily. It is there we met you, Alan & Honey. We shared many hours together chatting, visiting, shopping & eating together. You always found time to stop gardening and have a chat with us. Declan appreciated your shared love of rocks. He always enjoyed those small special gifts of gems you shared with him & in turn he hunted the purple Dino you longed for on our Dino hunts during the summer & was pleased to hand deliver and gift you that special Dino. I miss seeing you, until we meet again my friend. Fly free with the butterflies you love so much ❤️

Judy was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold. She was my guidance counselor when I was in high school and her guidance and advice was always so helpful. She had a way of making you feel so much better about whatever you were going through. She will definitely be missed greatly. I send my condolences to her family. Heaven just gained a true angel.

Judy was a true friend and a wonderful neighbour...I shall miss her dearly. She was always ready with a helping hand, a welcoming smile, a sympathetic ear and always had your back. She was there for you. Can't believe I won't be able to look over and see her in her yard with her Honey, that she will never again sit in my rocking chair with Honey on her knee....and there will be no more shared telephone visits. My heart goes out to all her family. Rest in peace with your loved ones, Judy. You leave a huge hole in my life.
