Marilyn Savage

Marilyn Savage

Passed on April 20, 2020

On April 20, 2020 at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall, Marilyn peacefully passed away with family at her side. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Brian; daughter Sandra; sisters-in-law Cecilia, Kitty and Bridget. Marilyn is lovingly remembered by daughters Tiffany (Kevin) and Gayle; Grandchildren Matthew (Jen), Meagan, Kyla and Dylan; Great-Granddaughter Isabella; Sisters Doreen (Jerry) and Sharon (Guenther); Sister-in-law Rosie (Bryant) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born on May 15, 1941 in Maidstone, Marilyn lived in Saskatchewan until meeting husband Brian in Indian Head. Married in 1961, they moved to London, ON and then around the Province of Manitoba, finally settling in the Town of Stonewall. Marilyn worked in the home when her daughters were young and later worked as a secretary, early childhood educator and then pharmacy technician. After retiring, Marilyn enjoyed her time with the Stonewall Garden Club, Communities in Bloom, Project Linus Crocheting Club and Red Hats. Marilyn had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. She loved traveling, with regular trips to visit family in AB, BC and SK as well as making trips to visit her sister Sharon in Germany. Her favorite international destination was Paris and she fondly remembered her travels to France with friends and family. In summer months Marilyn enjoyed gardening and picnics in the park, passions shared by her daughters. In the winter she curled and crafted. Regardless of the season, Marilyn was an avid walker. A celebration of life will be announced when we are able to gather with family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their care and compassion. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South West District Palliative Care, Box 1282, Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0.
