Quietly and peacefully, our mom Myrtle Slatcher passed away on September 11th, 2023, at the age of 98.

She is survived by her five children: Gail (Ken) Martinussen, Emily Inman, Richard Slatcher (MaryJane), Randall Slatcher (Cathy) and Susan Slatcher (John), 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren as well as her sister Gladys.

Mom is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Alfred, her son-in-law Clinton Inman, and six siblings Edith, Olive, Evelyn, Charles, Robert, and Gordon.

Mom was born in Woodlea Manitoba. She married our Dad Alfred Slatcher and together they raised five children. She had many hobbies and passed them on to her family whenever they asked. She especially enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and Bingo. Mom always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed meeting new people.

A family gathering was held at her Stonewall grave site on Tuesday the 19th of September at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers you are invited to send donations to Stonewall Lions Manor, 622 Centre Ave., Stonewall MB, R0C 2Z0. Mom loved living at the Manor and always spoke about how wonderfully she was treated.

Thank you to the Stonewall Lions Club, the home care workers that assisted her, and the staff at Betel Home in Gimli. A special thank you to Gail and Emily for the hours of loving care in Mom’s final months.

The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, our Mom, shall never pass away.
