Passed on January 16, 2024

March 18, 1947 – January 16, 2024    With very sad hearts, we announce the passing of my beloved Husband, Father and Gigi on January 16 at the Arborg Personal Care Home.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Beverley (nee Shachtay); his children, Daryl (Sabrina), Jeff, Lori (Trevor Gard). His wonderful grandchildren, Cody (and Dahlia), Summer (and Jesse); Great grandchild Brynlee, Lori’s children; Byron, Alex and Jaden. He loved his grandchildren, they were the world to him. He is also survived by his brother Steven (Jean) and their family. Sister Julia (Patrick Gulay) and their family. Sister-in-law Darlene Yaremus and her daughter Caroline (Ben).

He was predeceased by his parents, Stefan and Julianna. In laws, Steve and Caroline Shachtay, Sister-in-law Rose Darch.

Percy was a school teacher for 35 years. His love was his family and sports. Baseball was his favorite, along with curling. He drove many hours to take his boys and grandchildren to hockey. He spent many summers driving to Winnipeg to take Jeff to baseball.

Percy, my life will never be the same for me without you. I know, my love that we will meet again.

We the family would like to thank the Gimli Hospital and Arborg Personal Care Home for the excellent care he received.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Donations in his name may be made to the Morweena Cemetery or the Arborg Personal Care Home.

You will be missed Percy!
