Robert (Robby) MacLean

Robert (Robby) MacLean

Passed on September 2, 2018

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce Robby’s passing on September 2, 2018 at the age of 42. Peacefully and surrounded by his family, he left this world after a heroic battle with cancer. He left a huge hole in the hearts of many including his children Aiden and Ella (their mother Lauren), mom Lori (David), dad Rob (Linda), sister Lisa (Errol), nephews (Dante, Brayden and Darius) and his special angel, Andrea. He will also be dearly missed by his grandparents (Harry and Joan Arseniuk), numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Robby was born on February 16, 1976 in Pinawa and raised in Balmoral, where he grew to love the outdoors. He loved being part of a small community where he gained many lifelong friendships. As a young boy, he enjoyed building forts, riding his dirt bike, snowmobiling, and playing badminton & baseball. Later on, Robby moved to Stonewall where many of his dreams came true, which included buying his dream car (a 1966 Chevy II Nova), starting his own trucking business, and joining the Stonewall Rockwood Fire Department. His biggest dream came true when his miracle son Aiden was born and not long after, he was blessed with his beautiful daughter Ella. Robby always said that the most important role in his life was being a dad. His children were number one in his life and could put a smile on his face anytime he needed it. Robby loved spending time with his friends. Going fishing or having coffee with his buddies were some of his favourite things to do. He was so proud to be a part of the SRFD and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. Robby really looked forward to his yearly trip to BIR (Brainerd International Raceway) and seeing his huge family of friends there. He loved looking back at old memories and creating new ones. Robby is loved more than words can express, and we will treasure our memories of him forever. We can all be thankful that we had him in our lives and continue to remember him as the best daddy, best son, best brother, and the amazing guy that he truly was. A kinder, more caring person could not be found. He would give you the shirt off his back without you having to ask. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stonewall Legion on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Please dress very casually and bring a picture of yourself with Robby (or just a picture of you) to put on our “Wall of Friends”. Instead of flowers, if you would like, a donation to the Stonewall Rockwood Fire Department or Cancer Care Manitoba would be appreciated. We would like to thank Dr. Wong and Dr. Kakumanu and the staff at Cancer Care, Health Sciences Center, and Stonewall Hospital for taking such good care of Robby.

We are so saddened to hear of Robby leaving this world, there will be no more pain for him although there are many broken hearts left behind. He was a wonderful man who would make everyone smile." It broke your hearts to lose him but he did not go alone for part of you went with him the day God called him home." We will miss him deeply.

We were certainly blessed to have a wonderful nephew like Robbie. Watching him flying through the air on his dirt bike always made me cringe but followed by a smile. There was a time when a young Rob would follow me around while repeatedly asking "doin' Uncle Mike, doin' Uncle Mike". Those sweet comments are tattooed in my memory. Fond memories are cherished and never fading .

You have to wonder what God’s plan is when he takes an angel home. Robby was just an all round great person and had the best smile. To Rob Sr, Lori, Lisa and families, I’m so very sorry that you are all grieving. Just know that he’s okay now, smiling in the heavens. ❤️
