William Everett Baker

Passed on August 19, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Father and Grandpa, Bill (William) Everett Baker on August 19, 2018 at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall. Father was predeceased by our mom, Alice Baker, by his parents, William and Grace, and by his grandson, Daniel. Also preceding him were his sister, Beverley and brothers-in-law Wayne, Tom, Stephen, and Joe, and sister-in-law Patricia. Left behind to mourn him and to celebrate his life are his six children and their spouses; Chris and Netty, Wade and Joyce, Dale and Lorna, Barry, Jackie and Martin, and Colleen and Scott. Missing their Grandpa and biggest cheerleader are Chris Jr., Karen (Scott), Roberta, Patricia (Travis), Michael (Marie-France), Derek, Stefanie (Anthony), Robert (Dayna), Duncan (Brittany), Sam (Justine) and Nicholas (Gabrielle). Our Dad was blessed with seven great-grandchildren as well. He will also be missed by his sister Patti and brother Tom (Judy). Our dad grew up in the north end of Winnipeg and then lived happily with his new family in Stony Mountain for over 55 years enjoying the outdoors, co-hosting the family corn roast, and building projects in his workshop. During most of his working years he was employed by Bulman Brothers. He was a very social person and enjoyed talking with anyone and everyone. Our parents loved animals, and in particular labrador retrievers and stray cats which at times were too many to count. As a result, flowers are gratefully declined with donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society being appreciated. A private funeral will be held at a later date with interment to follow in Stony Mountain. The family thanks the staff of Rosewood Lodge and Teulon Hospital who took such great care of him over the past 3 years. He considered you his extended family.
