Georgena Adella Mary Chapman
1929 -2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Georgena Adella Mary Chapman on February 28th, 2019. Mom passed away peacefully at the Gimli Community Health Centre, surrounded by love, with family at her bedside. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Albert William “Bill” Chapman who passed away in the spring of 2004. As well as her beloved grandson Kyle in the fall of 2004, and most recently by her dear granddaughter Jennifer’s husband Carlos in 2018. Mom was also predeceased by her parents George and Esther Helliwell (1979 & 1989). Mom is survived by her five children: Lorne (Barb), Brenda, Donnie (Roseanne), Charlene (Don) and Bev; her eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; along with five sisters, one brother, a brother-in-law and numerous nieces & nephews. Mom was born on August 6th, 1929 in Calder, Saskatchewan. Seven years later, the Helliwell family moved to Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, where Mom grew up on the family farm, helping raise her younger siblings and continuing her education. Mom met & married Dad on November 2nd, 1949. Their first home was in Spy Hill and then a few years later their growing family moved to Inwood, Manitoba, followed by a brief move to Winnipeg. In 1960 their shared dream was finally fulfilled when they purchased the family farm at Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. Mom & Dad worked side by side on their farm for forty-four years; harvesting many years of quality grain crops and managing a successful dairy operation. In semi-retirement, Mom was an active member of the Winnipeg Beach United Church. She was also a very creative lady who enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts for many years. After Dad’s passing in 2004, Mom moved into the town of Winnipeg Beach, where she very much enjoyed her newfound neighbors; especially Friday afternoon tea times. A sincere thanks to Diane and Bob, for all your care, concern & special friendship shared with Mom during the past 15 years. Our Mom was the strongest woman we have ever known. She was our rock. Mom was strong in inspiration, and from that we learned the value of hard work. She was strong in her guiding hands and wisdom. Mom taught us that the only way to handle life’s challenges was to face them head on. Our mother was strong in faith, and this was the very core of her. She provided us with an endless nurturing love. We will forever hold on tight to our most precious memories of her, remembering her strength and the wonderful life lessons she taught us all. To honour Mom’s wishes, her funeral service was held in Spy Hill, Sask. on March 8th, 2019 in the Spy Hill United Church. Mom was then laid to rest next to Dad in the family cemetery (in Spy Hill). We are comforted in knowing that our parents are together again; forever and ever. The family is extremely grateful to Ken Loehmer (Ken Loehmer Funeral Services) for all the care and compassion extended to our family during this difficult time. If so desired, donations can be made in Mom’s memory to the: Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Dundas Cemetery c/o: Lesley Bond, Box 1056, Teulon, MB. R0C 3B0.

MICHAEL WAYNE PRINGLE
December 12, 1937 – February 22, 2019 On February 22, 2019, Wayne passed away due to health conditions. Wayne was born December 12, 1937 in North Bay, ON to Mel and Veronica Pringle. He was the only brother to Sheila and Janice. He was the pillar of the Pringle family, standing proud as the husband of his beloved wife Jan. They were married on May 20, 1957 and have five children, Laurie Bracken (Ken), Kim Doherty, Wendy Munro (Smiley), Jeff (Linda) and James (Jana). He started working for the North Bay Nugget newspaper after finishing grade schooling in 1954. In 1964, he took a job with Harris Intertype as a service rep and moved the family to Toronto. He was then transferred to Winnipeg in 1967. He was a savvy businessman who traveled the country and met interesting people along the way. In 1971, he left Harris Intertype to start a business with Jan called Casting Industries where they jointly made all types of plaster of Paris items from casting to painting and shipping. From 1975 through 1978 he also drove bus for Winnipeg Transit. In 1970 they bought property near Lake Winnipeg and he and his girls built a cottage. In 1976, they decided to move the family to the small community of Teulon, Manitoba. They continued their thriving business there and then in 1988 they built a new store and restaurant. It was in 1995 when they were involved in a horrible car accident near Stonewall that changed their lives forever. He suffered minor injuries but Jan was seriously injured in the accident. She endured years of surgeries, physical therapy and doctor appointments followed with a permanent disability. He was forever grateful that she survived. After this accident, that almost took the love of his life, he spent the rest of his life selflessly making sure she was happy. It was in 1998 that they made the tough decision to close their business and retire to Winnipeg. He took pride in their eight Grandchildren Shannon Ajibesin (Victor), Ryan Bracken (Krista), Kyla Campbell (Robert), Brett Munro (John), Caemlyn Pringle (Lukas), Daron Pringle, Matthew Pringle & Deanna Fontaine and their ever growing great grand babies. In his last days he was surrounded by his family and he felt so grateful for the family that he and Jan had created. He was a kind, compassionate, caring man and we valued his advice. His incredible sense of humour will be greatly missed but carried on in future generations. The Pringle family would like to sincerely thank the 5th floor staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their amazing kindness, patience and care for our Husband, Dad and Grandpa in his final weeks. He was so grateful for everything you did for him. As per his request, there will be a private family memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cancer Care Manitoba. Rest easy Pops, we’ve got it from here.
