July 8, 1939 – December 23, 2019 Walter wanted me to let you know that he heard there was some need for wheelchair ramps and stairs elsewhere, so he volunteered to go. He was born July 8, 1939 and departed on December 23, 2019, in Stonewall Hospital at peace. Cancer finally won, even though he largely ignored it and lived his life on his terms. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and May Hagborg and brother-in-law Clive Campbell. Surviving to remember his impact on them are his wife Isla (57 years), son Robert (Renee), grandsons Alex (Claire), Marshall (Natalie); daughter Bonnie and granddaughter Jasper; sisters Edie (Carl) Simonson, Elaine (Larry) Gusta and sisters-in-law Lorna (Doug) McDonell and Jean Campbell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Home was Meadows, Manitoba – first with his family and then his wife Isla after their marriage on May 5, 1962. They spent 30 years building their farm “Mallard Acres Ltd”, and he loved every moment he was on the farm. He was happy to be part of the Meadows group who rebuilt the Meadows Hall in 1972. They had two children Robert and Bonnie – a mixed curling team! Walter was extremely proud of them both and was happy to see them achieve success in their professional careers. In 1990 the decision was made to liquidate the assets and retire. Since his children had grown up and left home, he decided to join the Big Brothers of Winnipeg. During the next 15 years he mentored 2 wonderful young boys. He enjoyed every minute he spent with them and was proud to attend their high school graduations. With the arrival of two grandsons he turned his attention to them, sharing his love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting and making projects in his Woodworking Shop. The arrival of granddaughter Jasper completed the family. He enjoyed her participation in Highland Dancing and was proud of her academic success. All three of them were special to him – his wish is for them to be contributing citizens and to enjoy successful careers. In 1996 he and Isla moved to their dream retirement home in Warren. Being retired gave him the opportunity to volunteer full time as well as enjoy some travelling – he spent 25 years enjoying winter sunshine in Arizona where he quickly made new friends and was loosely called “Mr. Home Depot” because it did not take him long to gather up some tools and materials to “fix” most anything. The move to Warren included joining the Warren-and-District Lions Club. He took the Lions Motto “we serve” to heart and was pleased to be part of the Warren Park Development and felt huge satisfaction when he watched the children enjoying the playground and skate park area. The next big project was getting involved with the Heritage Site at Grosse Isle. This was his last project and he told Jim Harris that if he could have had one more summer, he would have had the station completed too. He took great pride in being part of this development. His wish was to have an Amur Maple planted in his memory at the site. To make sure this happened he planted it himself in July 2019 and had his picture taken. Walter also liked to play – hunting and fishing, camping, playing cards with friends, watching the Jets and Blue Bombers, any sport in season, curling – an 8 ender, golfing – a hole in one, and cribbage – a 29 hand. He enjoyed the Warren Golf Course and when you see the purple martins flying to the bird houses he erected on the course think of him swinging the clubs. He was recognized for his volunteering by being awarded the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal in 2012, and received recognition from the Warren and District Lions Club. These were meaningful events for him. Due to declining health Walter decided to make the move to Lions Manor in Stonewall in May 2018. This was also a happy move and he seamlessly made new friends and settled in. He felt blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family. He always enjoyed the parties and visits. Remember him kindly! Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. The family wish to invite you to join them at Meadows Hall on Friday December 27 from 2-4 pm for a come and go reception in Walter’s honor. If so desired you may make a donation to Warren and District Lions Club or charity of your choice, in his memory. We wish to thank the palliative care staff, home care nurses, the medical staff at Stonewall Hospital and all our family and friends for their compassion and care during his illness.

February 6, 1967 – December 17, 2019 It is with broken hearts that we sadly announce the passing of Trevor J. Mollard, age 52 years at Selkirk Regional Health Center on December 17, 2019. Trevor was born and raised in Stonewall, Mb. on February 6, 1967, son of Lillian and Kenneth Mollard. He attended Stonewall Collegiate and graduated from the masonry program at Red River College. Trevor was a hard worker and enjoyed working in construction with companies like First on site, Thorwin and most recently NextGen Builders. Family and friends meant the world to Trevor. He had such fond memories of their family camping trips to St. Ambrose and Winnipeg Beach. Trevor’s dream came true four years ago when he met the love of his life, Lisa. Not only did he find his soul mate but aready made family of his own. One of his wishes was to be married and on December 14th, 2019 that wish came true. Trevor was so happy and proud. He looked forward to his FaceTime chats with Eastyn, his grandson. He would have the biggest smile after he heard, ‘’Love you Papa T.” Trevor had many friends and was always there to help. Many weekends you would find Trevor at Tim Hortons enjoying a tea with friends, but not before he washed and polished his beloved truck. Trevor leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Lisa, children Rae-Lynne and Robbie, grandson Eastyn, mother Lillian, brothers Bryon (Sammy), Tim, nieces Nicole, Brittany, nephews Austin and Jake and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank Andrew Skene RN-Np, the nursing staff at the Selkirk Cancer Care, Dr Maksymiuk, Dr. Buduhan and Dr. Bashire. A special thank you to Dr. Alexander and nurses Josie and Danielle for the gentle care and keeping Trevor comfortable during his final days. July 07, 1973 – December 10, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jim with family by his side. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 20 years, Lena, his loving daughter Alivia, mother Vicky, sister Kelly, Uncle Earl and numerous friends. Jim was born in Winnipeg, grew up in Gunton, Manitoba and attended school in Teulon. He was a dedicated family man and worked hard all his life in various jobs, most recently for Len at the bison farm. He was not afraid of getting dirty. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was a bonfire, trail ride on the quad with his daughter or assisting friends fixing farm equipment or baling hay. Jim was always there to lend a hand. He spent countless hours tinkering in his man shed. If it was broken he found a way to fix it. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Gunton Community Hall. (nee Procter) It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of December 10, 2019. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Tammy (Ray) and Crystal. Her grandkids, Michael (Lacey), Shawn (Lauren), and Derek (Jessica). Along with her great grandkids, Liam, Emberleigh, Teylie and Sophie. She is also survived by her brother Fred and sisters-in-law Barb and Irene and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Jim, parents Jim and Marj, sister Edith, sisters-in-law Astrid, May, Edna and Muriel along with brothers-in-law Don, Bob, Armann and Lloyd. Winnifred was born and raised on the family farm in Woodlands, attended school there and later got a job in Winnipeg where she shared a small apartment with her best friends Astrid and Shirley. In June 1957 mom married dad and they started their life together in Vancouver, B.C. After a year long bout of home sickness she convinced him to move back to the prairies where they eventually settled in Argyle. Every year after school was done and summer holidays commenced mom would pack up the trailer and us girls and off we’d go with Dad to which ever construction site he was working that summer. It was a wonderful way to spend our summer holidays. In later years they took up the game of golf and spent many weekends and holidays traveling from course to course together and with friends. When they weren’t golfing they could be found working in the yard. As an avid gardner mom took great pride in her flower gardens that overflowed with flowers grown from seed. She also loved curling and was a lifetime member of the Argyle Ladies Curling Club. When she was no longer able to curl herself she would watch every game she could find on TV. Mom was always good at crafts and artistic from sewing the best Halloween costumes when we were kids, to making ceramics and then Christmas decorating for her table in the annual craft sale in town. She even decorated Tammy’s wedding cake which turned out to be the first of many. Mom was also a familiar figure at the local coffee shop and post office having worked there part-time for many years until Dad became ill and she stayed home to care for him. We will miss you Mom but know you are once again with Dad where you were always happiest to be. Funeral Service will be held at the Argyle Community Hall on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Oswald Cemetery.

December 14, 1929 – December 7, 2019 Peacefully one week before his 90th birthday Dad passed away, rejoining his many loved ones in heaven. Dad was the sixth of ten children of David & Katherina Abrahams. His parents were Mennonite immigrants and Dad’s childhood was spent on the family farm in Pigeon Lake, Manitoba. As a young man, Dad had an adventurous spirit working in gold mines & logging camps in northwest Ontario before becoming a lifelong farmer. In his youth, Dad was swept off his feet by Alvina Bergen and they were married April 27, 1957. They moved to Stonewall and together built a successful farm and raised a loving family. We have wonderful childhood memories of Dad’s sense of humour, chocolate that was shared but kept in his sock drawer for safe keeping and going to St. Ambroise beach on summer Sundays. Christmas and Easter were important and joyful occasions. A great deal of imagination went into hiding our Easter baskets; screwdrivers were sometimes required. Garth, Marina, Vicki and Heather shared an idyllic life until Mom died at the age of 41 of breast cancer on August 15, 1976. During Mom’s illness, Dad cared for Mom with love and tenderness showing us children the truest meaning of love. After Mom’s death we were Dad’s world and through his strength and love, we remained a united family. Dad wanted to maintain stability in our lives and even mastered the skill of homemade bread. Dad’s bread was extra delicious, attributed to his large farmer’s hands kneading the dough. Dad was blessed to find love again and married Mary Latta on February 17, 1979. They shared forty years together, hosting many gatherings for their large blended family, travelling extensively and becoming avid golfers. Their adventures included many golfing trips to destinations all over the world, most notably golfing at St. Andrews, Scotland. Dad was still golfing this past summer and, as usual, insisted on walking all eighteen holes. One of Dad’s proudest achievements was scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia when in his sixties. During the winter months Dad enjoyed curling in Stonewall and Argyle. He curled throughout his last winter and was very proud of his sweeping prowess. Dad always encountered new friends wherever he went and enjoyed conversing with people of all ages and walks of life. Dad’s grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, Jared and Chris were a constant source of pride and love. He enjoyed entertaining them with poems, songs, endless stories, and imparting many words of wisdom, always with theatrical flair. Dad also had an archive of strange and unusual artifacts; a visit to Opa’s was invariably a game of show-and-tell. Dad was happiest when surrounded by all who loved him. This November Dad was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. Mary was always at his side and lovingly took care of him, keeping him comfortable and tending to his needs. Dad will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Mary his wife, his children Garth (Irmie), Marina (Jim), Vicki (Glen) and Heather (Ron), his grandchildren Matthew, Amanda (Brandon), Jared (Bethany) and Christopher. Dad will also be missed by Mary’s family, his extended family, and many friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 2:00pm at Schoenfelder Mennonite Church, 2256 Hwy 26, St. Francois Xavier, MB. A special thank you to Dr. Weebedda, the Palliative Care Team, and all the staff of Stonewall Hospital who cared for Dad in his final hours. (NEE MARTIN) Born December 9, 1968 in Gillam, Manitoba. Deceased December 3, 2019 at Stonewall Hospital at the age of 50 years. Carol is predeceased by her father Donald George Martin and great nephew Dayton Martin. Carol is survived by her husband James Joseph Leslie Mikula; Daughter Andrea (Wes) sons Leeland and Blake; Son Jordan (Brianne) daughters Chiara and Aubrey; Brother Bill (Brenda); Twin sister Carla son Devon (Michelle) sons Drayden and Kane; Mother Gayle; Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Carol attended Teulon school and upon graduating she worked at numerous jobs bookkeeping and accounting and managing. She worked hard and excelled at any job she took. She suffered ill health from the age of 17 to her passing. She married Jim on August 4, 1990 and have two children. She dedicated all her spare time in organizing the Inwood Snowmobile Club. Her greatest pleasures were her children, grandchildren, nephews and great-nephews, snowmobiling, quadding, camping, flowers, crafts and she was a great cook. We would like to thank Dr. Loudon, the doctors and staff of Stonewall Hospital and H.S.C. for their care. Also to Bert and Rose Farmer and Wade Hubbard for their support. A celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M at Gunton Community Hall. A private family committal of cremains will take place after the reception. Sept. 7, 1968 – Dec. 2, 2019 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jeff in Loveland, Colorado. Jeff grew up on the family farm in Framnes, MB. He completed high school in Arborg and furthered his education at the U.of M. with a degree in Agriculture. His job took him to many places starting in MB., Alberta and in Loveland, Colorado. He loved his job and in speaking with his co-workers was very good at it. He was really enjoying Colorado and taking bike trips on his Harley. His passions were woodworking, reading, music and coming home to visit family and his many, many friends. Jeff was predeceased by his gramma and grandpa Mary and Ralph Kaminski; amma and afi Stella and Barney Einarson, his dad Wally Einarson, uncle Al and nephew Braden Bjornson. He is survived by his mom Phyllis Einarson (Dave Wabick); his sister Jacquie (Mike) Zagezewski and her family Kaitlyn (Blaine) Magnusson, Kenley, Walker and Nash, Shawnie Bjornson (Trent Foster) Lucas and Emery, Taylor Bjornson (Creyton Thompson). His sister Tracey (Brent) Wright and her family Kara (Dan) Matthews, Brooke and Beckem, Randi Wright (Nathan Wall), Hannah Wright (Teegan Martin). April 26, 1927-November 30 2019 Peacefully in her sleep, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother left us to go dancing with her man, Gordon, on November 30, 2019 at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall. Mom will be lovingly remembered by son Lyle and wife Nancy and their children Regan (Riley), Monica, and Brett. Daughter Elaine Nickel, husband Lynn and their children Chris and Cara (Richard) and great granddaughter Alanna. Mom grew up in Prince Albert Saskatchewan before moving to Winnipeg to live with an aunt in 1942. Mom married Gordon in 1949 and moved to Lilyfield where they raised Elaine and Lyle and operated a family farm. Mom was a talented seamstress, making clothes for the family and also to sell for some pocket money. Mom loved to do crafts and created many beautiful items for the family and for the Canadian Red Cross raffles. She was known as an avid gardener, growing a huge vegetable garden and stunning flower beds. She once remarked that she was happiest when she was in her garden. Mom enjoyed her time as a 4H leader and as a volunteer for the Red Cross. After Dad’s death the big yard and house became too much to cope with so she moved to Chilliwack B.C. in 1990 until 2000 when she moved back to Stonewall to be with Lyle and his growing family where her grandchildren enjoyed catching butterflies and preserving flowers with Gramma. The past 10 years were a rough time for Mom as she had only partial sight and the things she loved to do most -crafts, reading and crosswords -were taken from her. She enjoyed her talking books and visits from family and the staff at Rosewood Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 am at Lilyfield United Church. The family would like to thank all of the Rosewood Lodge staff and Dr.Graham for the wonderful care and compassion that Mom received as a resident there. All of the little extras that you did for mom warms our hearts. Special thanks to Ken Loehmer for his professionalism and compassion in taking care of all of the details for us.
